Happ VPN Subscription Link: What It Is and How to Set It Up

Paste a subscription link into the Happ app once, and the Happ VPN service takes care of keeping your server list current from then on. Below you'll find how a subscription differs from a single access key, how to activate the link inside the app, and what to try if the server list gets stuck.

What's behind a subscription link

A subscription link (subscription URL) is a single access link that bundles an entire set of servers and ready-made configurations. You only need to add it to the Happ app once — after that, Happ VPN keeps the list current on its own.

The biggest upside is automatic refresh. Whenever we roll out a new location or swap a server, the list inside the app updates itself, with no manual config transfers on your end. Read more about the servers and configurations themselves on their dedicated pages.

Subscription vs. a single access key

The distinction comes down to this:

  • An access key is one fixed configuration for one connection. When a new server shows up, you'll need to add it by hand.
  • A subscription link bundles a whole set of servers together with auto-refresh. Paste it once, and the entire list stays within reach.

If a single server is all you need, a key does the job — see the keys page for how to obtain one. For everyday use, though, a subscription is the more convenient route.

Activating the link inside the Happ app

Here's the sequence to follow:

  • Grab the subscription link from the service Telegram bot.
  • Open the Happ app and find the add-by-link option (subscription / add by link).
  • Paste the copied link and confirm — the app pulls in every configuration for you.
  • Choose a server from the list that appears and connect.

Opening Happ for the first time? Check the step-by-step setup guide, which walks through the entire process from scratch.

How automatic server updates work

Once a subscription is active, the app checks in for a fresh server list on its own at regular intervals. There's nothing for you to do — new locations simply appear.

Want the list updated right away? Open the subscription section in Happ and tap refresh. The app reloads the current configurations using that same link.

Where the subscription link comes from

The link is issued by the service Telegram bot, which effectively works as your access dashboard. From there you can also check your subscription status and copy the link again if you ever need to.

The link is tied to your account, so it's best kept to yourself. Everything related to your access sits in the account section.

If the server list won't update

Sometimes the refresh doesn't kick in right away. Work through these in order:

  • Open the subscription in Happ and trigger a manual refresh.
  • Double-check the link was pasted in full, with no stray spaces or cut-off characters.
  • Confirm your internet connection works with no active VPN at the moment you refresh.
  • Grab the access link from the bot again — it may have changed.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between a subscription and an access key?

A key is one configuration for one connection. A subscription link bundles a whole set of servers with auto-refresh built in — the list updates itself whenever we add or change servers.

How do I refresh the server list manually?

The list normally updates on its own. To speed things up, open your subscription inside the Happ app and tap refresh — the configurations reload using the same link.

Why did servers disappear from my list?

A manual subscription refresh usually fixes this. Make sure the link was pasted in full and that you have an internet connection. If servers still won't show up, grab a fresh access link from the bot or check the not working section.

Is it safe to paste a subscription link into the app?

It is, as long as it's your own link from the service Telegram bot. It's tied to your account, so avoid sharing it with anyone else and only add it to the Happ app.
