Getting Happ VPN Running for the First Time
From installing the app to an active connection is roughly a five-minute job: download Happ, grab a key from the Telegram bot, drop it into the app, and pick a server — after that the VPN just runs in the background.
Step 1. Download and Install
Happ ships for Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iPhone, and Smart TV, so start by grabbing the build for your device.
- Go to the Happ download page and select your platform
- Install it the same way you would any other app on your system
- Once it launches, you'll land on the welcome screen — that means the install worked
Step 2. Get a Key from the Telegram Bot
The app itself never hands out keys — your subscription and access key only come from the service Telegram bot. Without one, Happ opens fine, but no server will connect.
- Follow the link on the Happ Telegram bot page to open the bot
- Request a key: there's a 3-day trial mode (see free access), and paid options are listed on the pricing page
- Save the key or subscription link the bot sends you
Step 3. Enter the Key in the App
On first launch, Happ usually shows a screen for entering a key or subscription right away.
- Paste the text you received into that field
- Give the app a moment to pull down the server details
- If it went through cleanly, at least one server will show up in the list

Step 4. Connect to a Server
From there, just pick a server — by response speed or by location — and connect.

- Tap the server you want and confirm the connection in the app
- The status usually flips to connected within a couple of seconds
If the First Attempt Doesn't Work
Sometimes the first connection attempt fails, and a couple of simple checks usually fix it.
- Close Happ and confirm your internet works at all without a VPN
- Pick a different server from the list instead of the current one
- Make sure the key hasn't expired, and grab a new one from the bot if it has
